  • Dr. Iwata attended and  presented at the 30th Joint Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Vaccines and the 67th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Clinical Virology, held in Niigata on 26–27 September 2026.

  • The R. 8 Junseikai General Meeting was held on 13 September. Dr. Iwata received the Research Encouragement Award and gave a presentation.

  • A laboratory experience tour was held for freshman. The session included practical sessions covering basic experimental techniques, as well as lectures on the principles of qPCR and methods of evaluation.

  • A retrospective study led by Dr. Iwase has been published in the Journal of Infection and Chemotherapy. The study investigated the prevalence of macrolide resistance and antibiotic selection for Mycoplasma pneumoniae infections that emerged in Japan in 2024, using the recently introduced SmartGene® Myco. We encourage you to read it. PMID: 42562317

  • An information session for the Paediatrics Department was held on 16 July. A social gathering followed the session, and we had a very enjoyable time.

Group introduction

We provide diagnosis, treatment, and research for refractory viral diseases.

Our specialized outpatient clinics cover congenital cytomegalovirus infection, chronic hepatitis B and C, chronic active Epstein–Barr virus infection, and vaccination for patients with underlying research conditions.

We also perform molecular diagnostic testing for infectious diseases. Our early treatment system utilizing PCR and
next-generation sequencing technologies
represents a pioneering approach, implemented ahead of many other
institutions.
