Research overview
NUPID (The Infectious Diseases Group in the Department of Pediatrics at Nagoya University) conducts comprehensive virological diagnostics and pathophysiological analyses of Epstein–Barr virus (EBV)–associated diseases.
As part of this research program, we perform EBV-infected cell identification testing, which is essential for the diagnosis of EBV-associated T/NK-cell lymphoproliferative disorders, particularly Chronic Active EBV disease (CAEBV) and related conditions.
This testing is conducted within a clinical research framework approved by the institutional ethics review board.
Prior to testing:
The referring medical institution must be registered as a collaborating site in this research
program.
Written informed consent for research participation must be obtained from the patient (or legal
guardian).
A completed patient information form must be submitted.

Eligibility
Patients who are suspected of having EBV-associated T/NK-cell lymphoproliferative disorders (e.g., CAEBV, EBV-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis [EBV-HLH]), and provide informed consent to participate in this pathophysiological research study.
